Yanking Doodle Dandy Continued I'm sure a lot of you are wondering whether ripping my own hair out was painful. To me, it was like removing a band-aid. The hardest part was convincing myself to do it. The actual hair removal was more uncomfortable than painful. I mean, I'm not saying it tickled or anything. But pain? Objectively speaking, no. My skin looked fairly irritated at first, almost on par with the effects of the extraction facial. However, the finishing oil seemed to relieve some of the soreness and the discoloration began to dissipate after about an hour. After all of that time and energy, I'd say my home wax job lasted about two weeks. The hair grew back quite patchy, but there was enough of it to be visible. And herein lies my final lesson to you all. If you do decide that waxing is the way to go, find yourself a trained professional and pay that person whatever he or she wants. Honestly, whatever pride you may feel at having denuded your own legs, it couldn't possibly be worth the aggravation. If you've dreamed of moderately long-lasting hairlessness, save your pennies.
