Moe's Tavern Shopper - Spring 2005 Vol. 8

By Guest Natasha, Mike

  • Mike's Mini Shopper
  • A few witty lines here
  • I don't know why
  • That's what Natasha does
  • But her's is usually funny.

This will probably be the closest thing to a shopper following this Sunday's games. Actually it will be more like one of those anoying flyers you get in the mail advertising important things like gutter cleaning, mailing labels, cabinet resurfacing, and bad pizza. The motley crew consisted of: Melissa, Michelle, sub Helen, Greg, Myself, sub Tom, sub Vladamir, and sub Eric (Goalie). Obviously not a replacement for the Moe's 'A' team, but respectable given the last minute compilation.

Game 1 Recap:
We looked strong. Lead from the start. Greg accounted for ~90% of our offense. Eric was stopping everything put his way. The women were playing well and took turns sharing the “welts” normally reserved for Natasha. Halftime: Moe's ~5, Ted's team ~1. The second half was more traditional Moe's hockey (basically meaning the other team put the pressure on late and put in a lot of goals to make it close). Final: Moe's 6, Ted's team 5 (I think). We really dominated 90% of the game, so it was somewhat disappointing to let them make it look close.

Game 2 - Championship Recap:
We ran out of gas (or at least I did). Greg was taken down blatantly twice in the first 5 minutes without a call, which sort of set the tone for the game. Their shots started going in, our's weren't. Gatorade and frequent timeouts seemed to have no effect. Final: Halesinc? 13, Moe's 3.

My Keystone light player of the game would definitely have to be Greg. [Editor's note: we also had a nomination for Fuller.] In fact, I am putting through the paperwork right now, seeking approval for an upgrade from Keystone 'light', to a full flavored 'regular' Keystone.

- Till next season. Mike. (out)
