No Game, no kiddin'
Yes, due to a scheduling conflict the team we were supposed to play - the Goon Squad - wasn't able to make it. So the league decided that we should play Rebel Alliance in their stead but apparently failed to mention this to them. They claim that the schedule wasn't changed until Friday, but that isn't true cuz I remember seeing it earlier in the week. But then everyone in the world that did see this thought is was an error anyway so they didn't show up early to play us, talk to the league, etc. So we get the forfeit win, and if we want to make up the game we can talk to Terry and he'll make the arrangements or something. Although i don't think anyone has his contact information or wants to show up on a Saturday to play this make up game or whatever. So that will never happen but as with all Terry conversations - it's the thought that counts.
Scrimmage anyone?
So we scrimmaged for a while on a half court with one goalie and it was
lame. then we got some other people to play and scrimmaged on the regular
court and it was tiring, but fun. I'm actually glad that we all got the
workout and showing up wasn't a complete waste of time.
Some of my highlights of the scrimmage:
- Steve got stoned about 25 times by the other goalie
- Taking the puck away from Steve and scoring myself
- Steve's incredibly large shorts
- Laughing internally at Steve for the reasons listed above
Next game
We play the Green Tide at 4pm next week and look to be without Mike. Maybe
we get a sub for the guys?
Nothing Left
I was reminded this week of how Sportmonster sucks and there's always some
sort of screw-up during the season. Hopefully this will be the last - but
I already see that according to the standings we didn't get credit for the
win on Sunday - so that sounds like more fun already. There wasn't much
material to shopper about in the scrimmage and all in all was a lousy
situation, so i apologize for the lack of fun facts and commentary about
this weeks game. I really wanted to make this the best shopper ever.
